Sea Tech Week® 2024: Workshop by Cedre

  17 Oct
> 17 Oct
Project partner Cedre will facilitate a workshop on Ammonia as a maritime fuel

The Sea Tech Week® is a biannual event which brings together experts and stakeholders, and aims to strengthen international collaboration in marine science and technology.

The next edition will take place on October 15th-17th, 2024, in Brest, FR. For further information, please check the event page.

On October 17th, from 9.30 to 12.00, project partner Cedre will organise and lead a workshop on "Ammonia as a maritime fuel: bridging knowledge gaps for a safe and green future":

The decarbonization of maritime transport has led to the emergence of propulsion technologies aimed at replacing traditional fuels. Ammonia is one of the candidates for powering ships without emitting greenhouse gases, thus having a lower impact on the environment. Due to limited kowledge of how liquid ammonia behaves when spilled in water, our understanding of the consequences of accidental releases in ports or open seas remains incomplete. This workshop aims to enhance our understanding of the challenges associated with replacing traditional fuels with liquefied ammonia and how the maritime sector is preparing to address them.
