SaferSEA @ European Maritime Day 2025
On May 21-23, Cork (IE) hosted the 2025 edition of the European Maritime Day, a major European event dedicated to maritime affairs and a sustainable blue economy. As our Irish partner AxisBIC is located in Cork, this was also an opportunity for project partners to organise side activities.
Consortium Meeting
Project partners met on May 21st, in the beautiful Boardroom of the UCC Centre for Executive Education, for the biannual Partners Meeting. We reviewed together the project activities and indicators, and discussed the next actions.
Visits of research labs (WP4)
- On May 21st, the National Maritime College of Ireland welcomed a delegation of SaferSEA partners and guests. An opportunity to discover their amazing Marine Simulator and Sea Survival Training Facilities!
- On May 23rd, SaferSEA partners visited the Irish research vessel Tom Crean.
Open Innovation Call (WP3)
The 2nd phase of the SaferSEA Call for Challenges was launched on May 21st. This action, called Open Innovation Call, aims to connect 6 Maritime Challenges faced by Spanish and Portuguese stakeholders, with Solution Providers located in the Atlantic Area.
The Call is open until July 31.

Communication & Promotion
SaferSEA benefited from a dedicated booth during the EMD, alongside 70+ other European exhibitors. Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin even made a stop!
