European Maritime Day 2024

  30 May
> 31 May
A SaferSEA delegation will attend the EMD in Svendborg, Denmark

Every year, the European Commission organises an event around the European Maritime Day, celebrated on May 20th. After the 2023 edition in Brest (FR), and before the 2025 edition in Cork (IE) - both cities of SaferSEA partners -, the 2024 event will take place in Svendborg, DK, on May 30 & 31, 2024.

Over 2 days, the participants will have the possibility to network with 90+ exhibitors and attend high-level panels on topics such as "sea basin strategies as key enablers for the implementation of the sustainable blue economy", sessions on "the leading role of the European shipping industry in decarbonisation" or stakeholder workshops.

A consortium of 5 EMD Cities (Svendborg, Den Helder, Ravenna, Brest and Cork) will hold roundtable discussions on key issues for maritime cities. Brest Métropole, co-host of the EMD in 2023 and associated partner on SaferSEA, invited Brest-based organisations Technopôle Brest-Iroise and Cedre (respectively SaferSEA project leader and project partner) to attend the European Maritime Day in Svendborg. The objective is to present the project objectives and the planned actions, as part of Brest roundtable on the topic "Ocean & society: Innovation as a catalyst".

Are you planning on attending the EMD this year? Come and discuss with us! Representatives from Brest Métropole, Technopôle Brest-Iroise and Cedre will be at the stand n°28, on the 1st floor. Registrations are open until May 10th.

The 2024 European Maritime Day will take place at SIMAC, Nordre Kajgade 9A, in Svendborg.
